It's time for Minnesota to work again! I'm the son of a tire factory mechanic, and the first in my family to graduate from college. I'm a Gulf War Veteran, and have the rare distinction of earning Good Conduct Medals from both the Army & Navy. After years of dedicated community service, I was honored to join a small select group of people to receive a Mayor's Good Citizenship Award & Key to the City of Brooklyn Park. My sons attend public school in the Osseo School District, and I am the proud recipient of a District 279 Foundation Award for "Significant Investment in Helping the Community." I believe in freedom, liberty, and suburban values. Or, getting government off of people's backs, and out of the way of blocking prosperity!
My opponent, who was elected with the slogan "it's time to get the job done," has contributed to the only two state government shutdowns in Minnesota's 153 year history. She supported a sales tax increase, a gas tax increase, income tax increases, and even authored a bill to start taxing clothing. She is clearly part of the problem, NOT part of the solution!
For years, the City of Brooklyn Park was controlled by one political party, and not coincidentally they have been years of significant decline. Female suburban candidates deceptively ran as "moderates" or "conservative Democrats" to fool conservative-leaning voters. But once the Legislative Session started, the DFL Party bosses from Minneapolis and St. Paul took over, and prosperous suburbs were abused as an ATM to fund inner-city projects and expensive toys like light rail lines & stadiums.
Recently, Brooklyn Park took a step forward electing a Republican State Senator and a GOP-endorsed Mayor, and we are already seeing results. In November, voters can decide to join successful suburbs to our west by electing a full slate of Republican Legislators to really move Brooklyn Park, and Minnesota forward. Families must live within their means, and state government needs to as well. I will work to protect your homes, your values, and your wallets, not sell you out to Minneapolis and St. Paul!
